KJ Test Tier List
Who wins public servers, and which ultimate actually ends a life.
A KJ Test tier list is not a ranked-ladder export. There is no official ELO. What we can rank is public-server impact: how often a kit converts a touch into a kill before someone else third-parties you. This hub splits that question in two. The character rankings cover who you should queue. The awakening ranking covers which G-bar tool you should spend when the meter finally fills.
KJ Test currently brands itself [INVINCIBLE & RED MIST] KJ Test. That title is a patch billboard, not a promise that those two are unbeatable. Read the fighter pages — KJ, Invincible, Red Mist, variants, Cosmic Form — then come back here when you need a shortlist.
How we score a kit
We weigh four things, in this order:
- Confirm rate. Can a slightly late M1 still become a combo? Ravage-style grabs score high.
- Kill security. Does the last hit ragdoll long enough that a random third player cannot steal it?
- Awakening quality. Stoic Bomb that erases a clump beats a pretty cinematic you whiff.
- Forgiveness on mobile. If the kit needs frame-perfect side dashes, it drops a tier on touch screens.
We do not rank “how close the animation is to TSB.” Pretty does not win the Baby Steps badge.
Snapshot (August 2026)
| Slot | Public-server read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | KJ | Complete base kit plus 20 Series finishers |
| S | Red Mist | Huge, simple swings; easy on mobile |
| A | Invincible | New spotlight kit; strong if you already space like KJ |
| A | Cosmic Form | Flashy neutral, worse if you cannot manage the form |
| B | KUY / V / JK | KJ language with worse confirms |
| B | Hero Hunter / Undying Hero | Honest TSB ports, less one-shot |
| C | Child Emperor / Destructive Cyborg | Fun, easier to interrupt |
Full notes, matchup text, and “when to swap” live on character rankings. Do not memorize this table and ignore patch notes — the Invincible & Red Mist update already proved the top row can shuffle.
Awakening is its own list
Base KJ is a grappler-striker. Awakened KJ is a cutscene machine. Ranking them on one axis hides the truth: a C-tier base character with a one-shot G move will still farm you in a 6-player pile. Read awakening ranking before you hold your meter like a panic shield. Pair it with how to awaken so you know when to press G, not only which slot is strongest.
How to use a tier list without becoming that player
- Lock one S or A kit for a full session. Swap-after-death is how you stay bad.
- If you cannot land Ravage, KJ is not S for you yet. Finish combos first.
- Counterpick only after you can explain why you lost. How to beat KJ is the better page when you are angry.
- Mobile players should prefer Red Mist and simple awakenings over dash-tech KJ routes.
What a tier list cannot tell you
Ping, server population, and whether the person with the crown is using a script will swing more games than a half-tier gap. If every KJ looks unkillable, check your dash bind on the controls page before you demand a nerf in chat.
When the roster grows again, we will update this hub, the Players Hub, and the Updates Hub on the same day so the three pages do not contradict each other.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers players actually search for in KJ Test.
Who is the best character in KJ Test?
KJ still sets the language of the lobby. Red Mist is the easier S-tier on mobile. Details on character rankings.
Is Invincible better than KJ?
Not automatically. Invincible is a spotlight A-tier until more players learn its confirms. Compare Invincible with KJ.
Should I rank awakenings separately?
Yes. A weak base kit with Stoic Bomb still deletes clumps. Use the awakening ranking.
How often is this list updated?
After roster patches. Start with the Invincible & Red Mist notes, then this hub.
